Bertha was a stay at home mother her earlier years. Shortly after she completed her GED, she quickly joined the workforce and had numerous jobs. At her last job, she worked in the Customer Service Patient Billing Department for the University Health System. A few of her hobbies were sewing, putting jigsaw puzzles together, playing Loteria Mexican bingo, and painting cascarones by hand with markers for Easter or Fiesta. Her true main hobby was gambling and made numerous casino trips to Las Vegas, Louisiana, and Eagle Pass. She was the most humorous person on earth and loved to make people laugh given the opportunity. There was never a dull boring moment when she was around. She also went all out and enjoyed hosting family birthday parties. She looked forward to gatherings with her Sidney Lanier High School Alumni members. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was a magnificent person and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
