Betty Jean Adams Amft

Betty Jean Adams Amft, age 87, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on March 12, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois to Laurette Bazinet Adams and Herbert Lester Adams. Betty graduated from CVS High School and attended Chicago Teacher’s College. In 1970, she met her beloved husband Kevin P. Amft, and after marrying in 1973, they were together an amazing 51 years.

In 2004, they moved to San Antonio. They became devoted members of Concordia Lutheran church. Betty worked hard as an executive assistant for several nonprofits in her lifetime, including United Way, Clipped Wings through United Airlines, and Ducks Unlimited.

Outside of work, Betty loved spending time with her family. Her two granddaughters were especially adored. When they were around, she always beamed with happiness.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Laurette and Herbert Adams, and her brother, John B. Adams. She is survived by and will be greatly missed by her husband, Kevin Amft; son, Eric Amft, and wife Doreen; granddaughters, Danielle Morales and her husband Joseph, and Megan Amft. She is also survived by her brother, Herb Adams, and wife Sandy; sister, Sara Stephens; and many loving extended family and friends.
