SO MUCH CAN BE SAID ABOUT BETTY BOTZ.    BETTY WAS MY SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER AT LAKESHORE WHO POURED HER LOVE FOR GOD AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORD INTO US.

THE MOST IMPORTANT NUGGET OF TRUTH THAT SHE IMPARTED TO ME WAS - "WHEN GOD PLACES YOU IN A TEST INSTEAD OF ASKING FOR IT TO GO AWAY.  ASK GOD WHAT IS IT THAT HE WANTS YOU TO LEARN FROM IT SO THAT YOU MIGHT GROW.

I only learned of sister Betty's passing today. Nevertheless I must pause to express my appreciation for her life, her ministry, and her personal interest in my family during our 4 years at IBC. One time she gave me a Pentecostal hand shake after chapel. This means she.gave me a small sum of money so that I could take Tina (my wife) out for dinner. In addition to this she said that she would come to our small apartment and watch our 3 daughters who were only toddlers then. That was over 30 years ago and Tina ourselves are now grandparents. thank you Betty for Your love for my family. You started out as a teacher and over time you became a friend, a stabilizing force in our lives. You now walk on streets of gold with our Savior. Your Godly influence took root in our hearts and Tina and I remain thankful. Jack and Tina Klugh

Betty used to call me "her brat" because of all the tricks I used to play on her when we traveled across the nation in the Sonshine Company. Betty was my spiritual "mom" and sat in as my mother during my wedding with Sheryl in 1978. Not a week goes by without me longing to be reunited with her in Heaven. She will be one of the first I will seek to see there. My ministry continues today in great part because of the rich deposits Betty made into my life. To God be the glory for the way her life inspired so many to know, love, and follow Jesus. Sincerely,

Betty Botz was an amazing woman of God. She told stories like no one else I 
knew. The way she talked about heaven....I wish I could explain about 
heaven to my little girls the way she explained it to us... "In heaven, you actually get to walk around on streets of GOLD. PURE Gold. 
And then if you want to go swimming, you can just jump in the beautiful 
river...and you NEVER have to come up for a breath of course, when I tried 
to tell that story to my little Meg, she said, "I don't WANT to jump in 
under the water!....see what I mean? I'm not Betty. "And there's a tree of life with the most wonderful fruit, and the 
Angels....they circle around Jesus and God all day and all night and say, 
"Holy, Holy, Holy........Holy, Holy, Holy.....is the Lamb." The way she'd 
use puppets and pictures, drama, singing, and felt boards to tell basic 
Bible stories...it captivated all of us. I still remember many of her songs...."Worthy is the Lamb.....in sign 
launguage, My God is SO Big.... 
I remember on many occasions Betty laughing at herself because she would 
mess up on the motions or the sign launguage or the whole thing. Betty was the first person to introduce the Baptism of the Holy Spirit to 
many of us kids...Granted, if a stranger or passerby walked into our little 
sanctuary at the old church and saw all of us kids in a circle speaking in 
unknown toungues...they might have confirmed that The Church of Castle Hills 
was indeed a cult! But it was real to us...it was the prophetic...and to 
this day, many of us are a testimony of God's faithfulness and Betty's 
prayers. Betty had a way with kids and people. She showed no favoritism and treated 
all of us as equals. I can picture Betty right now...finally with Jesus, 
the Man she talked about so much... walking on the streets of Gold, jumping 
in that water and not coming up for a breath, and for the first time, 
actually with the angels, singing "Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lamb who Sits on 
the Throne." 
This was a "Good Friday", for Betty, indeed. We'll miss you, Betty.

I remembered how Betty Botz made learning about Jesus fun. The camps, Vacation Bible School, and children mininstry will always be in my memory. I thank God for Betty Botz in my life because there were times when life wasn't going well. She was always there and love her for that. God bless Ms. Botz and thank him for sending her into my life. I was truly shocked when I went to church on Easter Sunday and heard Betty Botz had passed away. On my way home from church I thought about how she made an impact on my life. I feel there is no one that can replace Betty Botz in the children's ministry. Thinking back I remembered how she made going to church fun and interesting. I remembered the first time leaving my mother for camp and how scared I was. After the first camp the following years would be easier to pack my sleeping bags and say "Sayanora mom see you in a couple of days". I remembered attending Vacation Bible School at the old church, we would have snow cones and go to the playground at Castle Hills Elementary School. When I was a teenager I became involved with the Children's Ministry with the puppets. I bought a puppet named Charlie and Ms. Botz taught me a few tricks on how to work Charlie for the kids. Ms. Botz had a big influence in my Christianity and I had accepted Jesus Christ into my heart because of her. I will miss her and I thank the good Lord for sending an angel, Ms. Botz, in my life. Again, no one could take the place of Ms. Botz and the memories I have will always be with me. Although we are sad she is not present on earth she is in a far better place then earth. I can picture Ms. Botz singing with the angels and eating all that lovely food with Jesus.

To Judy and Pat, Your mom was an exceptional lady and servant of the Lord. Her famous words that I always will remember are"one child at a time". 
Her winning and welcoming smile could make the day a better day. I knew her from International Bible College, the class of the Royal Heirs. Be assured that she is a Royal Heir and we will see her again.

I have prayed for Ms.Betty each day as i pray for all those who have been instrumental in my childrens lives.She played such a vital role in my daughter Jenai's life and she received a good Christian foundation.What a legacy she lives behind with all the kids she touched who are now parents.We can only have wonderful memories and know she is at the banquet table where we will all meet one day.Carol,Sanjeev,Jenai and Jadon Mehra.

I, like so many children and adults, learned volumes from Ms. Betty. As a child, Ms. Betty not only taught me about Jesus, but led me to him as well. She taught me and so many others about the Bible and the way to live our everyday lives. Not only that, but I learned about ministry from Ms. Betty starting at a very early age - things that I have used ever since, and have become part of me. Losing her has been heartbreaking, but I will never forget the way she described Heaven, and remembering that makes the loss easier to bear, knowing that she is there, waiting for us in that beautiful place that was always so real to her. I will miss Ms. Betty, but I will never forget the things I learned from her, and the example that she set for all of us. I love you, Ms. Betty.

Betty will be missed by many people. She was a woman of God and will be remembered for her love of children.

I am eternally grateful to Betty not only because both of my children received Jesus while under her ministry, but because she made Him a real Person to them and she made Heaven a real Place. Children enthusiastically ran literally! to the back during the alter call in Kids Church to receive Jesus Christ. One time I will never forget: two very little boys only about 3 or 4 and holding hands, came running to the back. Looking at them I asked "do you want to receive Jesus into your heart?" And they were both just grinning and one said "I already have", so proud of himself, and then the other immediately said "but, i haven't". So I said "you want to accept Jesus?" and he, almost jumping up and down, nodded emphatically "yes" and we prayed the sinner's prayer. That's how real Betty made her Jesus. There will never be another Betty. I know she must be having a time with her Jesus now! And oh, her reward in Heaven!

I have never meet anyone like Betty and have truly been blessed by her. She had so much of the Lord to share. She had a childrens ministry but thru her ministry she has touched so many parents. I want to express my sympathy and grief to you. Thank you for your sacrifices made in sharing Betty with us. Betty will be missed. May God bless you and your families and keep you. I have known Betty since I was a very little girl. She taught at my home church in Kenosha Wisconsin. I accepted Christ under her ministry 39 years ago when I was 4 years old. Her daughter Pat prayed the sinners prayer with me. Years later I attended IBC where she was my dorm mom. I traveled for the summer with sonshine company and and soaked up everything she could teach me. Betty has been a mentor, a friend, a 2nd mom and so many other things to me and my family. I am who I am today because of what she taught me. I am now a children's minister at Cornerstone Church with her grandson Brett and we have promised each other we will continue to carry on her legacy. She taught Brett and I about Jesus and we teach hundreds every week about Jesus and hopefully they will continue to pass on the message through the years. 
I love you Betty and will see you again someday. Give Jesus a hug for me!!!

When I think about Ms. Betty, I think about the way I want to live. I want to live my life the way she encouraged us to in Kids Church, and I want to love my Lord the way she did, with all her heart. I am so thankful that I was able to learn about Jesus from Ms. Betty...she had a special way about her that just made you want to listen to her. I will never forget her up there on the stage in Kids Church telling us about Heaven. She would tell us about the streets paved in gold, the jeweled stones on the gates, and the trees with every kind of fruit growing from them. I remember her getting so excited about what it will be like when we finally get to see Jesus; hearing the enthusiasm in her voice and seeing the expression on her face, I knew I wanted to go there, and I know someday I will. Thank you Ms. Betty for the impact you've made in my life, and in so many other people's. You've taught me so much about life in so many ways, and I will always remember the many memories. I love you and will miss you.

What a special mother and grandmother! She will truly be missed. Our prayers are with each one of the family members.

My memory of Betty Botz is a fond one. She led myself along with my brothers and sisters through our childhood at Cornerstone Church. I am now 24 going on 25 and Betty was a big influence on my spritial life. If it wasn't for her i think my life would not be on the right path, and not following My lord and savior Jesus. I remember all the songs she taught us, the summer camps she paid for us to go to and just her happy spirit in general.The way she explained the bible to a child to understand was always a big amazment to me! I loved Betty so much, She will be dearly missed!

I missed the phone call alerting us of Betty's passing, and saw it for the first time in E-mail form on Saturday night. I read the subject heading out loud in disbelief about her home going, and everyone in the family stopped in their tracks. No one moved we all stood silent. Then finally we reminisced. What a witness and testimony she was in the lives of our children who all benefited from hearing, seeing, and moving to the beat of the lively music she?d sing with the children. As adults, as much as we loved our pastor?s teaching, we found ourselves captivated by her approach for teaching that we?d find ourselves in children?s church more than just our rotating schedule for volunteering. To the one who epitomized Cornerstone Children?s Church Program of San Antonio, Texas as being one that other church?s modeled their programs after, you will greatly be missed. How fitting that the Lord would take you during such a joyous time when we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He?s celebrating with one of His most loved and cherished saints in heaven. Betty leaves behind a legacy of her own grandchildren and great grandchildren who are, and who will, touch many lives for Jesus with her fingerprints on them as well. With all our love,

When I learned that Betty had died I started to think back and remember all of the things she taught me. Songs started going through my head and I have been singing them for a few days now to my new daughhter. "Put Jesus in your every day life, He wants to be your very best friend." This song sums up the Jesus Betty taught us to know and love. I will always remember the camps, the children's church, the vacation Bible schools and of course the sno cones!! But most importantly, I will be forever thankful for Betty because I will get to meet Jesus because of her.

When Steven & I first came to Cornerstone, we were so overwhelmed by the Kids Church and Betty Botz was such an integral part of that. She helped us in so many ways and at so many times to get Steven in the swing of this new church and especially his new relationship with Jesus Christ...like no one had ever done before. She was truly an angel here on Earth. We can just see her jumping and rejoicing in Heaven waiting for us to join her.

Betty was the person that God used to spiritually influence me the most. She took me into the Children's Ministry 17 years ago and gave me the opportunity to touch 100's of lives as she mentored me. I was blessed to have been called "my Timothy" by Betty. Laurie and I will miss Betty but are so thankful that we will one day walk the streets of gold with her.

Betty, you are one of a kind! When it comes to Children's Ministry, you always had the annointing, the answers, the teaching techniques developed with your own style full of passion and truth. I learned everything I know about ministry to children from you. You taught me that ministry is fun and should be full of energy, enthusiasm, and sincerety. You recognized my own gifts and helped me to develop them to serve God. You instilled confidence in all who served under you. Serving with you to minister in the classroom, on stage, and at the camps have given me many memories I will forever cherish and be thankful for. I know of no other minister or servant of God that I have more respect for than you. I love you Betty and will miss you greatly.

Betty Botz was a great Influence on our lives. She taught us to love life and never take it for granted. She also took us under her wing and guided us. Her joyous and loving spirit will live on forever in our hearts and we will always remember her laugh.

I attend Cornerstone church, but didn't know Betty. I've only actually seen her in person once. She taught a class in "Becoming A Woman of God" that I attended. But EVERYONE around me knew her. My cell leader's wife was mentored by Betty. In Praise choir a young man wrote a song about her that he played for us last night. It was beautiful. His life was obviously deeply touched by Betty. I've heard so many of the young people at Cornerstone say they were saved because of her teachings and leading them in to the prayer of salvation. It seems I'm one of the very, very few that didn't know Betty. She has left a mighty legacy of believers here on earth. 
They will all be up there soon Betty, because of your obedience to the Lord Jesus. And I'll finely get to met you, the Legend, in person.

Betty, you'll be greatly missed down here but we know you're dancing in Glory before the King of Kings!!! Because of your teachings I was able to lead my little 3-yr. old granddaughter to the heart of Jesus and she now has Him in "her heart" as she tells everyone......thank you for the legacy you left here all around the world and we know that you heard "Well done, thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of the Lord"..........see you on the other side, some day soon, my sister!

Dear Betty, I have wonderful memories of years of serving alongside you in the Childrens' Ministry you so dearly loved. The clever little songs you taught the children, your gift of relating Bible truths to them on their level, and your determination to get ALL of them baptised with the Holy Spirit. And you just about did! I still have the birthday gifts you gave me and will always treasure them. You showed me how to walk in forgiveness and love. To the family and friends of Betty Botz--We send our sympathy, thoughts and prayers at this time. We only knew Betty for a brief time as she was the grandmother of Tiffany, our precious daughter-in-law. Tiffany always spoke so lovingly about her grandmother and we knew she had to be special. We are so happy that her suffering is over and she is with our Lord.

I first met the ever so wonderful Mrs. Betty Botz when my family first came to Cornerstone Church on Roleto Dr. back in 1986. I was nine years old at the time and it was my first year in her sunday school program for kids. I remember the first day of sunday school because I remembered feeling sad and lonely. Betty had begun the program by singing "The Perfect Ten" the Ten Commandments Song. I remembered her doing the motions to the song while Ms.Heather played on the guitar. I also remembered her message because it was about forgiveness. You see, the reason why this day was important to me is becuase Betty went out of her way to make me feel loved not just by other peopleother than my mom & dad but by God the Father as well. I accepted Jesus into my heart & life that year and ever since then I had also accepted Betty into my heart & life as well. I continued to keep in touch with Betty through my parents Tony & Maria Mendoza who have entered their nineteenth year as custodians & us as a family of membersof Cornerstone Church. Thank you Betty for being an important part of my life and more importantly for being the Angel that led me to Jesus. Thank you God for sending me Betty! Betty Botz was my dorm mother for three years at IBC. Her love, strength and humor made all of us living away from home feel right "at home". Her advice was always sound and straight to the point. I don't remember her candy-coating anything just to make someone feel better - but she tempered all things with love. I hadn't seen her for about nine years but thought of her often. I will miss her. I didn't know Mrs. Botz very well. But I do know she was a devoted woman of the Lord. And she was a beautiful spirit. Words can't describe how I feel about Betty. She led all 3 of my children to the Lord and they all, as married adults with children of their own continue to love Jesus and name her as one of the major influences in their Christian life. She always ministered to their potential -- she always saw who they could become. She always believed the best, looked for the best, loved always. She was truly one of a kind -- an absolutely amazing person who carried the presence and reality of God to every child that came into contact with her.
