Miss Betty Lou Clay died on May 26, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. She was a retired teacher and advisor at the Defense Language Institute, English Language Center, Lackland Air Force Base. Her career took her all over the world and her dedication to her students left her with friends around the globe. She enjoyed recounting her experiences in Vietnam, Korea, Liberia and the Azores. Miss Clay volunteered for ten years at the San Antonio Rape Crisis Center and was a member of the Lackland Officers' Spouses Club.
She is survived by a twin sister, Mary Clay Pearson (Sam), of University City, Missouri, nephews, Bill Pearson and John Pearson (Pamela) as well as her beloved pets: Jack, Jerome, and Gurgee "the Wonder Dog".
