Betty was born on February 18, 1961, to Jesus and Juanita Guerra. She graduated from Harlandale High School and went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Ricardo Z. Lopez, on January 27, 1979.
Together, they shared 47 years of marriage and built a beautiful life and family, raising three children.
Betty was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Above all, she was a devoted child of God. Her faith was not simply something she spoke about; it was something she carried with her and shared through the way she lived.
She will be remembered for her kindness, her sense of humor, her comforting laughter, her generous heart, and especially her beautiful smile. Betty had a way of making people feel welcomed and cared for, and she touched far more lives than she may ever have realized. May her beautiful smile remain forever in our hearts, and may we find peace in knowing that her faith has carried her home.
Betty is survived by her mother, Juanita Guerra; her beloved husband of 47 years, Ricardo Z. Lopez; her daughters, Lydia J. Landin (Felix Landin), Nancy DeLeon (Pablo DeLeon); her son, Ricardo G. Lopez (Alexus Neira); her sister, Elena Flores (Reynaldo Flores); her brother, Jesus Guerra Jr.; her grandchildren, Zachariah Vara, Pablo DeLeon III, Nikko DeLeon and many extended family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives were blessed by knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesus Guerra, and her brother, David Guerra.
A visitation for Betty will be Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 10AM with a celebration of her life at 11:00 a.m. at The Miracle Center Church, 3751 Commercial Avenue, San Antonio, Texas 78221. Burial will immediately follow at First Memorial Cemetery, 20567 Highway 16 South, Von Ormy, Texas 78073.
For those wishing to send flowers, yellow carnations were Betty’s favorite. The family kindly asks that all floral arrangements be sent directly to the church.
