

Her parents were James Martin Shelton and Betty Lou Ozier of Amarillo, Texas. She spent some of her early years on the Bravo Ranch and even attended grade school with her brother, Jack in Nara Visa, NM. Her grandparents were John Malcolm Shelton and Flora Exum Thurmond whose original ranch was part of the old XIT.
She attended The Hockaday School for Girls in Dallas, Texas and received her BA from the University of Oklahoma, Norman, Oklahoma where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority.
She was a member of the Junior League in Amarillo, TX and the Argyle Club of San Antonio, Texas.
She is survived by daughters Julie Shelton Smith of Newport, RI, Elizabeth Smith Boston of San Antonio, Janie Talmage Smith of San Francisco, and two grandchildren, Ann Elise McCaffrey of Brooklyn, NY and Robert William Boston III of Dallas, TX and her brother and sister-in-law, John Malcolm Shelton and Joan of Amarillo and many nephews and nieces and grandnieces and grandnephews.
