

Betty was a radio operator employed by American Airlines where she met her future husband, Pilot Oliver Pfeil. They were married in Burbank, CA on December 24, 1945 and celebrated 62 anniversaries together before Oliver's death in 2008.
Betty and Oliver worked closely together to build the family business - Texas Hobby Distributors. Their favorite past time was traveling throughout North America, Europe and the Holy Land.
An avid orchid grower, Betty was a long time member and past President of the Terrell Heights Garden Club and the San Antonio Garden Center. She also served as a nationally accredited Flower Show Judge. Betty exhibited many award winning flowers and arrangements and published two family histories: Dear Sisters and Dear Ollie.
She is preceded in death by her brother Ulysses and two sisters, Jen Schwab and Mary Curry.
Betty is survived by her three sons: David Pfeil and wife, Valentina of CA; Richard Pfeil and wife, Emy of MD; Dan Pfeil and Penny Pfeil of San Antonio. She had five grandchildren: Caitlin Pfeil of BC, Canada; Morgan Pfeil Powell of FL; Harris, Eben and Audrey Pfeil of TX and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 4th at Porter Loring on McCullough Ave.

Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
