She was a graduate of Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio. She taught elementary school, sang bass in the Sweet Adelines women's barber shop quartet, designed and sold jewelry with her husband, Marvin.
She was preceded in death by her parents Silas and Bette Finley and her older sisters Mary and Gladys Finley.
Betty Jo is survived by her husband, Marvin Rockey; sons, Patrick Rockey (Defiance, Ohio), Michael Rockey (Rancho Cordova, California), and Timothy Rockey (San Antonio, Texas).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Association in honor of Marvin Rockey.
