Betty was born in Slaton, Texas. She and her family moved to Los Angeles, California in 1953.
After marrying Jerome Pinero in 1963, Betty focused on her education, attending MT SAC Community College in Walnut, CA, where she specialized in food service management. Following her passion for the aviation industry, Betty pursued further education at the International Air Academy in 1990, specializing in airport services. She went on to work for Midway Airlines, showcasing her skills until the unfortunate closure of the company. Undeterred, Betty found a new home at Kohl's department stores, where she excelled until her well-deserved retirement in 2008. Betty returned to her roots in Texas in 2012, residing with her sister Mary in San Antonio. Betty's life is a testament to hard work, resilience, and the power of pursuing one's dreams.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Doshie Cook, and brothers, Noble, Eugene, Leo Daniel, Namon, and Leroy Cook. She is survived by her daughter, Sigale Pinero and son-in-law James Dyer. Grandchildren, Casey Krueger and Dominic Polizzi, sisters Linda Quinn, Mary Cook, and Hattie Foster, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation and memorial services will be held from 12-4 pm on October 6, 2023, at Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
