I regret missing the funeral, but Uncle Bill was in my mind and heart that day. My childhood memories are dominated by family gatherings, of which Bill and Chubby were a vital part. When the cousins convened last fall I was so cheered to see that Bill still had that twinkle in his eye and his sly sense of humor. I do believe that an irresistible urge to tease is in the Lee genes! 
I know your dad's passing leaves an enormous hole in your hearts, but he's now in the place he longed to be. My heart goes out to you both, and Arno joins me in sending our heartfelt condolences.

'I enjoyed many trips with Bill while doing storm duty at USAA. He was a grand friend and co-worker. I met him first in the mid-1960s when he came to Midland, Texas on storm duty for GAB. I am saddened at his passing and regret that I am unable to get to San Antonio for the services. I will remember you all in my prayers.'

'I'm going to miss Uncle Bill. I remember the times visiting the Lee's when I was little. I remember being greeted by Uncle Bill rubbing his whiskers on my face. It was like being scrubbed with a Brillo pad, but it was fun! I also remember the huge wild turkey Uncle Bill had gotten on one of his famous hunting trips. We had it for Thanksgiving on a visit to the Lee's house in Oklahoma. The bird was a little gamey but it was a wonderful experience and family event I will never forget. I also remember a time when we visited the Lee's in San Antonio. I experienced the taste of both venison and elk thanks to Uncle Bill. I don't think many people can say they have tasted wild turkey, venison, and elk but, thanks to Uncle Bill, I can! 
What wonderful memories! What a wonderful family! What a fantastic Uncle! I'm going to miss him, but I'm so thankful to have these memories and the love of Uncle Bill in my heart forever!'

'My memories of going fishing with uncle Bill: I remember when I caught 5 cut throat in Yellowstone Lake,and in Gunnison Colorado, Uncle Bill made me throw back a salmon that I caught.
