With great sorrow, our family shares the passing of Blas David Leija, a strong and loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, cousin and uncle whose love, voice, and strength will never be forgotten. He left this earth on September 8, 2026 at the age of 57.
Blas was a proud father to his three daughters Roxanna Marie, Cassandra Lynn and Shannon Dorra.
He was a man of great determination. He lived life on his own terms and remained true to himself until the very end. Those who knew him knew his bravery, strong will, toughness, sense of humor, his fierce love and the ability to leave a lasting impression without even trying.
He leaves behind a lifetime of stories, laughter, lessons, and memories that will keep his larger than life presence alive in the hearts of his family for generations to come. Through every chapter: the good, the difficult, and everything in between, he remained above all, a proud Leija.
Blas joins his parents Maria Elena and David Leija and his sisters, Yolanda and Jisela in heaven.
He is survived by his children, seven sisters, three brothers and his grandchildren Alyza, J’Ryan, Jordan, Krislyn, Maddison, Guillermo, Violet, Lilianna and Natalie. He also leaves behind one great grandson Ezariah.
A mass is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, 2026, at St Joseph Catholic Church, 25781 State Highway 46 W, Spring Branch, Texas 78070, and followed by a celebration of life at 911 Red Cloud Dr., San Antonio, TX 78260.
