Bob Treviño

Bob Treviño, born March 29, 1935, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on August 1, 2026. He leaves behind a lifetime of love, devotion, and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Above all, Bob believed that family came first. He shared 70 years of marriage with his wife Sylvia. Bob and Sylvia raised 4 children with a commitment to unwavering love of family.

A proud San Antonio native, Bob grew up on the South Side. He built a career in the Civil Service, leading software designers and applications engineers in support of operations at Randolph AFB. He was a contributor to the computer revolution at Randolph and loved making “back in my day” remarks to the kids about computers as big as buildings.

He made countless sacrifices to ensure his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren had greater opportunities than his own. Although he himself was unable to attend college, he understood the value of education and instilled in his children the need and desire to prioritize higher learning. They in turn have extended this legacy to their children. Bob’s influence will be felt for generations to come.

Hunting and fishing were Bob’s lifelong passions. The lakes of Texas were his second home and he won numerous trophies for bass fishing. He took great pride in sharing this fishing knowledge with friends and family alike, creating memories and passing along lessons that extended far beyond the sport itself.

His children remember the annual family vacations to South Padre Island, family parties in the backyard with piñatas, BBQ and Big Red floats, and neighborhood fish fries. They are memories that will be treasured. After retirement, Bob and Sylvia hit the road in their RV, forming meaningful friendships that brought joy to their life and to those around them. They traveled all over the United States and especially loved the mountains, lakes and streams of Colorado.

Bob is survived by his wife Sylvia, his sister Rita Flynn and family, 4 children [Cindy (Joe), Theresa (Randy), Robert, and David (Sheryl)], 8 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Evelyn, his brother Sonny and his sister Evelyn (Tunie).

Although Bob's presence will be deeply missed, the values he lived by—love, hard work, and unwavering dedication to family—will remain his enduring legacy.

A Memorial service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at the Sonterra Franklin Park retirement community on Saturday, August 22 at 2PM.
