

Bobby York, age 69, saw the Lord's glorious face on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Born in Benton, Kentucky to parents, Joe Clayton and Mae Eva York; he was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Larry York. Bobby is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary Louise York; daughter, Melissa York Wright and husband, Donnie; son, Jason York; sister, Jocille Curtis and husband, James of Benton, KY; grandsons, Colt Benton and Coy Wayde; nephew, Brad Martinez and wife, Sandra; nieces, Gina Aderholdt of Augusta, GA and Tonya Copeland of Calvert City, KY; sister-in-laws, Sylvia Gartner and husband, Chris; Sara Windmeyer and husband, Mike.
Bobby graduated from Marshall County High School. He joined the Air Force, served during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star. While stationed in San Antonio, he met and married his better half. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University earning a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and worked his way to executive positions throughout his career. He took personal interest in the development and advancement of his staff. He was an avid golfer, who looked forward to tee times with his buddies. He loved Gospel, Country and Blue Grass music. His latest passion was spending time with his boys, who always asked to go to Pap Pap's house. He was our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend; THE most kind-hearted, generous, man of God and always a gentleman.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
