

Ms. Bonnie Jean Hamlin was born to the late Robert Emmett Hamlin and late Helen Mae Hamlin on July 14, 1959 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She attended elementary, middle, and high school in the Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania school system. After high school, she attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in respiratory therapy.
She began her career as a respiratory therapist at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for several years before moving to Atlanta, Georgia to work at Crawford Long Hospital as a respiratory therapist for over 20 years. When she retired, she moved to San Antonio, Texas to serve as a caregiver for her mother. Bonnie was a devoted and active member of the Alpha Pi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and participated in numerous community programs with her sorority sisters. She was a member of Resurrection Baptist Church at the Schertz campus and served with the Guest Services Ministry.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her father and mother and leaves to cherish her memories, her brother, Ronald Hamlin (Shirley); sister, Dr. Joanne Hamlin Smith; her brother, Robert Elton Hamlin (Brenda); many nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces; Aunt Cecelia; Uncle Hartis and family; her first cousins; other relatives; many wonderful sorority and fraternity members; her special crew at Merritt Lakeside Senior Village, and a large host of other friends.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:30 am Saturday, December 07, 2024 at Trinity United Methodist Church.
