Brenda F. McGhee

September 9, 1958 – November 5, 2023
Obituary of Brenda F. McGhee
IN THE CARE OF

Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home

We are saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Brenda F. McGhee, on November 5th, 2023, at the age of 65.

Brenda is survived by her mom Nellie Fay Brady, Aunt Joann Imel, Uncles Jimmy and AJ Beckam, adopted daughter Jennifer Thrasher, grandchildren: Elizabeth, Jonathan, Nichole, step siblings, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Brenda is predeceased by her father, Lewis McGhee, her uncle, Alfred Beckham, and her dad, Cecil Brady.

Brenda was born on September 9th, 1958, in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1978, and then attended classes at St. Phillips College.

Brenda loved collecting Betty Boop everything and jewelry, making art, and spending time with her family and friends, especially dancing the night away at Bluebonnet Palace. She also enjoyed shopping at thrift stores and coloring her hair in an assortment of colors. Her eccentric personality and love for life was ten feet tall (her attitude also!) Brenda's charisma had an amazing way of bringing all kinds of people together, a busy body, always moving between groups of people at parties. She loved her Walmart family, and stopped to take pictures with many of her coworkers any chance she could and would tell her family stories of her adventures at work, and how she loved to dress up at for any holiday to spread joy to anyone who walked through the doors. Brenda was small in stature but when she entered a room, her presence was larger than life and she captivated everyone with her smile and laughter. She is loved and will be missed by so many people.
