Brett Lee Dolat

Brett Lee Dolat passed away at the age of 52 in Ojai, California on August 28, 2019. He was born on July 31, 1967 in Evanston, IL to Kenneth and Patricia Dolat. He is preceded in death by his grandparents: John and Rose Dolat and William and Helen Smalec.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years Charlotte Shaw Dolat; daughter Emma Grace Dolat; siblings:

Kirsten Varley (husband Mark, children Jake & Gracie) Friendswood, Texas; Jason Dolat (wife Staci, children Joshua & Megan ) Apex, North Carolina; Erin Baird (husband Greg, children Allison & Emily) Tampa, Florida; and Brother-in-law, John Shaw (wife Kristen, child Lily) Manasas, Virginia as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Brett embraced life to the very fullest and his sense of humor was sure to brighten anyone’s day. His loyalty was fierce, laughter infectious, and friendship true. Brett’s generous spirit led him to living a life that was guided by being helpful to all.

He was an avid golfer, lover of being out on the water (especially with family and friends on his boat), and an expert at making queso and grilling turkey sausage. More than anything, people enjoyed being around Brett because he was a good man.

He worked for the golfing industry for 20+ years where he encountered many people, each and every one he considered a friend. He adored his family dearly, especially his wife and daughter. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will take place on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 6:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the American Heart Association or to the First Tee of San Antonio.
