Brian Curtis Bocook, born on July 2, 1972, in Athens, Ohio, to Donna Marie Flynn (Robinson) and Charles Curtis Bocook, passed away on May 14, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Brian was preceded in death by both of his parents. He passed away doing something he loved—working. He was 53 years old.
Brian grew up in Florida, Texas and Ohio and graduated from Cloverleaf High School in Lodi (OH). In July 1990, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving honorably during the Gulf War aboard the USS Truett (FFT 1095) as an Operations Specialist Second Class (OS2) in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Desert Shield. His naval service brought him lifelong memories and friendships. While stationed in Ingleside, Texas, in 1993, he met Tina Michele Noe, whom he married on January 7, 1995, in Corpus Christi, Texas.
After his military service concluded in 1994, Brian and Tina relocated to Ohio in 1995 where he began a successful career as a plumber. For over three decades, he honed his craft and maintained his license until his passing. In later years, he owned and operated Alamo Preservation, LLC, a dustless sandblasting company.
Brian was a devoted father to his three children: Brianna Marie Bocook (28), Allison Grace Bocook (24), and Anthony Curtis Bocook (15). He shared a deep bond with his brother Michael Bocook and his brother in-laws Robert and Edward Manning. He adored all of his nieces and nephews and the family he joined in Texas. He cherished countless friendships formed through his passions for sports and hobbies.
Summers were often spent on the softball field—either playing slow-pitch or coaching his daughters’ teams. When the family moved to Texas, he began coaching football for his son.
He enjoyed many years of Friday nights in his bowling league with his friends at Wayne Lanes in Wooster, Ohio. Hunting trips, Thanksgiving, 4th of July and many other trips to West Virginia with his best friends were a cherished tradition for him and his family. Brian found joy working on cars, fishing, camping, building model ships and cars, and sharing beers with friends. You could find him in the garage at any time, and he only cooked with a grill.
Brian’s legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on May 22, 2026, from 05:00 PM to 08:00 PM at Porter Loring Mortuary - West 1710 W Loop 1604 N. The visitation will begin at 5:00 pm and services beginning at 6:00 pm.
In memory of Brian we ask that you wear something that reminds you of him, blue, or camo.
