Briar "Bear" McCann, age 18, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. Briar was born on February 27, 2004 to Gabriela A. Ocaas and Curtis R. McCann II in Williamsville, New York. Briar had many health issues throughout his life, but he remained steadfast, with a huge smile on his face-and that smile lit every room.
Briar was pure sunshine. He made a huge impact on anyone who knew him. Briar gave us strength and unconditional love. He taught us to appreciate the little things, to not take things for granted and to live life to the fullest. To know him, was to love him. He was a warrior, a fighter and an amazing advocate. Briar Bear was a HERO!
Briar is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather "Papa" Jaime V. Ocaas. Briar is survived by his parents Gabriela Ocaas McCann and Curtis R. McCann II; younger brother Ethan McCann Ocaas and younger sister Giada McCann Ocaas; maternal grandmother Sylvia Diaz de Ocaas; uncles Jaime Ocaas and Christian Ocaas; paternal grandparents Beverly McCann and Curtis McCann; aunts LeeAnn Wampler (David) and Beth Dycus (Justin); and many cousins and extended family from both sides.
The family will receive family and friends from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
