

Bridget Ann Schmidt, age 69, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2016 in San Antonio. She was born in San Antonio to parents, Herbert Emil and Constance (Velarde) Schmidt. Bridget graduated from Incarnate Word High School and then received her Bachelor of Science from Incarnate Word College in 1969.
With this degree, she had a lengthy career as a medical technologist. Bridget will always be remembered for her sense of humor and generous spirit. Her many creative talents included singing, painting, needle point and stained glass work. She also had a fondness for crossword puzzles and Jeopardy.
But above all else, she was a devoted, loving and tireless mother.
She was predeceased by her parents; son, Patrick Walker; sister, Yvonne Barloco and husband Ben Barloco, Jr.; and brother, Herbert Emil Schmidt, Jr. She is survived by her twin sons, Christian B. Walker and Thaddeus B. Walker; daughter, Jillian M. Walker; sister, Kathleen M. Schmidt; brothers, Richard T. Schmidt and wife Susan, Martin "Eddie" Schmidt and wife Kathy; sister-in-law, Carol A. Schmidt, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their thanks for the care provided by MD Anderson, Texas Oncology, and Embrace Hospice. Further, many thanks to Father Martin Leopold for his spiritual support. Bridget's Rosary and Memorial Mass have been scheduled for Monday, December 19, 2016 at 10:00 a, and 11:00 am respectively, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 223 E. Summit Avenue, San Antonio, TX 78212.
A private inurnment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
