Dr. Jardon implanted my hip prosthetic 
in August 1985 at the Nebraska Med 
Center and continuted on as my 
orthopedic consultant for several 
years after that. I usually had 
appointments with him when he 
performed military duty at the Bergquist 
Hospital on Offutt AFB since I am 
an Air Force retiree. I always enjoyed 
my visits with him, particularly his 
frankness and comical disposition. I 
will always remember him.

Eric, Karla, Sandy, Moira and the Jardon Family. Dr. Jardon will be missed immensly. I was young when I became his secretary and learned so much from working for and with him. He was a very caring physician and person deep down; if you could bypass his sometimes gruff exterior. I loved his use of the English Language some terms I've never heard before. Max, taught me many things about the world of Orthopaedics and the military. I will never forget his jolly laugh and kindness he has shown to many. May he rest in peace as he will forever be missed.

My wife, Judy & I are so sorry to hear of Dr. Jardon's death through Chuck Poliky. I was in the Flight Surgeons office as a Reservest where I met Dr. Jardon. He operated on my wife several times she has spina bifida. Most memorably he found a speck of sand embedded in the bottom of her foot which was causing blood poisoning when other doctors insisted it was a pressure sore. He was truly gifted and will be a great loss to the medical community. Fred Schlingman

I had the priveledge and pleasure to work with and for Doctor Jardon as a member of his Air Force Reserve Squadron. At that time, he was a Lieutenant Colonel and the Chief of Hospital Services. I was the Pharmacy Officer. He was a manger who allowed his subordinates to shoulder their own responsibilities, while always being available to help when necessary. He would say: "Major Rosenberg, how's things going in the Pharmacy?" in his somewhat gruff voice. I would of course reply: "Just fine, Sir!" He would then say: "Good. Keep up the good work." I never doubted his commitment to the mission or to those who worked for him. I was always proud to say that I was "one of his troops" and I remain proud of that fact to this day. He was a kind and caring individual, who did not mince words and was totally committed to his beliefs. His death is a loss to the nation, to the medical profession and to me personnally. Moira,and Jardon family - I am so sorry to hear about Max's death - I worked with Dr. Jardon in the ortho clinic at UNMC in the early 70's. As many have stated Dr. Jardon was a teacher. 
Each Friday pm our clinic was closed and Dr. Jardon would come out to the front desk explain all the new and up coming procedures in the ortho field. 
I was always warmed by his eargerness to share. He will be missed.

Max was a wonderful person and we admired him greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.

I was saddened to read in UNMC Today about Dr. Jardon's passing. He was an enegetic teacher and a fine role model for myself and my fellow medical students during the middle 1970's. His remarkable military achievements came as somewhat of a surprise - at the College of Medicine at UNMC, he was first and always an exemplary physician.

It was my honor to know Max as a student at NU and in the Air Force Reserve. He will be greatly missed.

Moira and Dr. Jardon's family - I was very sorry to hear about Max's death - I'll always remember him - despite his gruff exterior, he had the biggest heart in the world. He was a good man - and the world will miss him.

BG ret Max Jardon was a dedicated fellow AF Reserve medical officer who served with pride and distinction throughout his career. Likewise in his civilian career, he was just as dedicated to teaching medicine at UNMC as he was to being a career medical military officer. He will truly be missed by his civilian and military friends. Now may he rest in peace.

My condolences to Morya, Eric, Karla and the remainder of the Jardon family. It was good meeting everyone recently in Alma. I have many fond memories of Max that extend to our early days in Alma.

I express my deep sympathy to the family of Dr. Jardon. I was with him as a personnel manager at the 28th Medical Services Squadron in the 80s at Offutt AFB, NE. I had great admirmation for him. I will remember him and his family in my prayers.

Will always remember his sense of humor and down to earth attitude - a professional who knew how to treat his fellow airman, regardless of rank. "Max" always made time for his people - a well liked person - he will be missed. My prayers & condolences to the Jardon family.

Dr. Jardon brought a great deal of joy to our family. He delivered me when I was born, as well as my sister and several cousins. My mother remembers him fondly as a wonderful doctor, and he will live on through the lives he has touched.

I am saddened by the loss of "mon general" I have many fond memories of Doc having first made his acquaintence in 1982 while he was still, I believe a Lt. Colonel. 
Strong in his convictions, we discussed the events of the times in earnest, and when done, laughed at the outcomes.

It was my great pleasure to work with General Max in the Air Force. General Max was a wonderful physician, a great personality and a true friend. He will always be remembered for his "colorful use of the english language", his robust humour, and his willingness to help others. It goes without saying, General Max was highly respected, not only for his rank, but also for the reason that he was a true leader. I am proud to have been able to share his company.

When Max gave me a hug at the Dining In that the 710 MDS had in Omaha, several people wondered why. At that time I was part of the Fleet Hospital Navy Reserve Unit that was invited to attend and most people didn't realize that Max had known me since I was young child. I grew up with the 28th since my father, Chief Hart, was a long-time member. Max couldn't believe that I had grown up and joined the Navy Reserve much to his and my father dismay. I finally ?got smart? and switched to the USAFR am a former member of the 710 MDS. 
Max will be missed by a number of people. Please accept our deepest sympathies and condolences to your family.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Dr J's death. I had the opportunity to know Max for over twenty years professionally and as a friend. I knew Max to be a kind and gentle man with those he cared for and loved. There wasn't any request or favor that he wouldn't consider if you were his friend. The world is a better place because of Max's enormous contribution to his profession, his community and his country. I will miss him as a friend. I am strengthen at this time knowing that Max is in a better place.

I was Chief TV Engineer at UNMC. I did a lot of Video taping with Max in operating room over the years doing hip replacement. During one operation the intern that was helping passed out this did not slow Max down and he went on with the operation then checked on him. 
Max did a lot of swearing about his help in Operating room but everyone knew he did not mean it.That was Max He later apologized to everyone. 
I cherished his friendship over the 23 1/2years I worked with Max before retiring in 2001. I am also an AF retiree.

Dr. Max Jardon was recognized for his expertise as an orthopedic surgeon as well as his career as an Air Force general. At one time, he had performed more total hip replacements than anyone else in the city of Omaha. His "Maxisms" will live on into the forseeable future, and continue to be enjoyed by many people, especially those in the operating rooms. Max was a very dear friend when he lived in Omaha with Moyra.He will be missed,both professionally as a colleague and as a true friend.

I regret not being able to attend Max's funeral, but we were notified too late of his death, to make arrangements. Max was a great step father to me, and he was truely loved by out family. I have missed him dearly since his remarriage, and I hope now he has found peace for his kind and gentle heart.
