Brittani Taylor Flanders, a beacon of laughter and love, embarked on her final adventure just one day shy of her 30th birthday. Born on February 20, 1996, in the sun-kissed city of Tucson, Arizona, Brittani's story began as a spark that would ignite countless hearts with joy. She completed her earthly journey on February 19, 2026, in the vibrant city of San Antonio, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of giggles and good deeds.
Brittani was the beloved daughter of Denise and Robert Googe, and Edward and Elizabeth Flanders. She was the mischievous sister to Preston Flanders, who, along with his wife Megan, often found themselves entangled in Brittani's comedic capers. Her sisters Zoey Cooper, Danielle Googe (partner-in-crime to Shaun Donovan), and Madison Googe shared in the laughter and the occasional eye roll that came with Brittani's antics. The family's roots of love ran deep, anchored by grandparents Peter and Linda Moore, David (and Cynthia) Flanders, and Francine Flanders, who all contributed to the woman Brittani became. A parade of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members also played starring roles in her life's sitcom.
A proud graduate of Rutherford High School in Panama City, Florida, Brittani's thirst for knowledge and passion for helping others led her to Northwest Vista College in San Antonio, where she earned her Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice. Not one to rest on her laurels, she was pursuing her dream at Galen College of Nursing-San Antonio and had recently earned a spot on the Dean's List. Her academic achievements were like a well-timed punchline – unexpected, but absolutely perfect.
Brittani's career was a testament to her selfless nature. She began as a Behavioral Health Paraprofessional at Fort Sam Houston Independent School District, where she worked miracles with special needs children, particularly those with Autism. Later, as a Behavioral Specialist at San Antonio Behavioral Hospital, she continued to touch lives across all ages with her unique blend of compassion and humor.
She was a Christian, though she often ad-libbed with her own brand of spicy sass. Brittani's interests were as eclectic as her sense of humor. She had a love for music that could turn any moment into a musical number, a fondness for animals that knew no bounds, and a karaoke prowess that could only be described as legendary. Her radiant smile and sarcastic humor were the encore to every gathering. Brittani was loving, adventurous, and selfless – the kind of person who could find the funny in the mundane and make the ordinary extraordinary.
Brittani's life was a series of perfectly timed jokes, heartwarming moments, and acts of kindness that left everyone better for having known her. While the stage of life may have dimmed with her departure, the echoes of her laughter will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who loved her.
The family requests attendees wear black, purple or teal in celebration of Brittani. Gallen College of Nursing students are encouraged to wear Gallen apparel.
In memory of Brittani’s life-long passion for animal rehabilitation and autism awareness, please consider a donation to Animal Defense League of Texas or Autism Society of Texas in lieu of flowers.
A Memorial Service will take place on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., at Porter Loring Mortuary West.
