Byron Charles Trott, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 2, 2017 at his home in San Antonio. Byron was born on October 16, 1942 in San Francisco, California, to parents, Carla Lois Krantz and Byron Harry Trott.
Byron was a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles with a degree in Motion Picture Production; his specialty was post production work such as color timing and negative cutting. Byron had a progressive disease, Ankylosing Spondylitis and knew he wouldn't be able to travel later in life so he and Michael took time to travel around the United States, Europe, Mexico, and Central America.
After their travels, they made San Antonio their home in 1978. While there, he found a second career redeveloping older buildings. Also, Byron played an important role as a founding member of the San Antonio Gay and Lesbian Community Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Byron is survived by his spouse, Michael McGowan; and cousins, Melody, Rebel, Michael, and Lowell Trott.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the San Antonio Food Bank at safoodbank.org.
