He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Taft Johnson.
He is survived by his son, Cary Neil Johnson III; daughters, Anne Miller and Gail Simmons, all of Houston, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Johnson was born in Dallas, TX. His family moved to Houston where he graduated from Rice University. He went on to be an Independent Landman after working for Standard Oil and Edwin Pauley Oil Co.
Mr. Johnson was an avid golfer and active in many worthwhile activities including the Shriner's and his church.
