Dear Frank, Whitney and Frankie,
    I found out today about Candie's passing.  To say I was shocked to hear the news would be an understatement.  Frank, I think you know what Candie meant to me as we were growing up at Fort Sam.  She was my best and dearest fiend, and we went through many fun and difficult times.  She was a very strong, opinionated, and spirited individual, and I loved her for that (even though it meant we would get into horrendous fights).  Although we haven't keep up as well as we should have in the last couple of years, I will truly miss her.

I have just now heard about Candie...I am so sorry for your loss. I remember our teenage years together...driving to school in the red mustang....our fun times with our horses at the Ft. Sam Houston Boots&Saddle Riding Club...spending time with her parents. 
Col. Burt & Helen were some of dad's best friends. Candie, her mom & dad, & my dad were people full of such character....they will all be fondly remembered.

Candie...Tonight I just learned of your passing. I thank you and Frank for taking me from a local kid on a pony to a world class competitor. Good Luck on your journey. I will always hold a place for you in my heart.

Dear Owens family - I was sadden to hear the lost of Candie. I chatted with her many times at the horse shows I was stewarding.  She was always very nice and had some 'great stories' to share.  She will be missed, my deepest sympathy.

Frank, Angie and I share your sorrow. I had known Candie for 52 years and her family was my second family all of these years. Talked to Glenn and Amy two days ago. We share your grief. God Bless you and your family.

Frank, Whitney, & Frankie we are so sorry for your loss.  Candie was one of those great horse people we were fortunate to know.   Even though we haven't been in the horse world much since Scott's ankle injury, she still sent Christmas cards & kept in touch through FB.  (We enjoyed reading her political comments.)   She had great ideas, a big heart, & a fun, spunky, tell you how it is personality that made her presence known.  She will be deeply missed as we know she touched the lives of many as she did ours.  We will say our prayers for Candie & your family.

Frank, Whitney, and Frankie, We are so very sorry for your loss. We were blessed to have known Candi for many years, and we will always treasure her visits to the farm. She was always sure to make us laugh and bring a smile to anyone's face. We will truly miss her. You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

   I am so very sorry for your loss. Though I did not have the opportunity to spend the time that I would have loved with Candie, the few times I did get to ride with her were some of the most memorable moments that I will always treasure. She has touched my life in so many ways. I will remember and love her forever.

To the Owen's family, I am so very sorry for your loss. It's been many years since I saw Candie on the show circuit, but I will never forget her presence and how kind she was to everyone. She was an amazingly lady with an amazing family.
