Growing up, Triple attended Alamo Heights High School and loved playing all sports, primarily tennis, and football. Throughout his childhood, he was known to play many pranks and joke around with all of his loyal buddies. Triple went on to Texas Tech University where he made lifelong friends pledging his beloved fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta. At Texas Tech, Triple met the love of his life, Joy, who he would go on to marry and spend 31 amazing years together. They shared three beautiful daughters, Jillian, Jenna Belle, and Carly. Triple was very proud of the fact that except for his time in Lubbock, he spent his entire life in “the best city ever," San Antonio.
Upon graduation, Triple embarked on his dream of becoming a stockbroker. He first gained the necessary sales experience selling copy machines for Office Communication Systems. In October of 1992, Triple began a 30+ year career at Merrill Lynch. Triple successfully navigated the evolution of the industry from selling stocks 100 shares at a time to becoming a trusted advisor. He took tremendous pride in his work and was annually recognized as one of the nation’s top financial advisors. He loved to roll up his sleeves and invest the money, but first, he constructed a financial plan for every one of his clients. Triple’s success could not have been achieved without his devoted and dedicated team. Triple’s long-lasting, generational relationships with all of his clients meant the world to him.
Triple enjoyed playing golf, attending Texas Country Music concerts, and watching all sporting events, especially Texas Tech, TCU, and the Spurs. Above all, his favorite hobby was spending time with his family and his two standard poodles, Coco and Phoebe. His contagious energy lit up a room and his friendships extended to all ages. His happy places were on the boat at Horseshoe Bay, at the beach in Port Aransas, and in his living room dancing and listening to music and creating lifelong memories with his family.
Triple was extremely passionate about the many organizations he was affiliated with, including The Texas Tech Rawls College of Business Advisory Council, The Texas Cavaliers, The Order of the Alamo, The San Antonio German Club, and The Town Club of San Antonio. Over the last five years, Triple served on the board of The Texas Cavaliers Charitable Foundation and was looking forward to his new position as President. Triple served as a Deacon at First Presbyterian Church and was also a member of the San Antonio Country Club and The Argyle. Triple was a pillar of his community and brightened everyone’s life with his contagious laughter and humility.
