C.W. was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a hardworking businessman and longtime enthusiast of architectural history. He owned and operated The Olde Door Store for over 20 years, where he shared his passion for architectural antiques and took great pride in preserving pieces of history for his community. He had a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and the stories behind every piece.
He had a deep love for the outdoors and was especially passionate about saltwater fishing—he truly lived with a reel in his hand. C.W. found great joy along the Texas coast, especially in Corpus Christi, where he spent countless hours casting a line and sharing stories about his latest catch. He especially loved teaching his grandchildren to fish, patiently showing them the ropes and passing down his love of the water, particularly to the boys.
C.W. never met a stranger and loved to talk, often spending hours on the phone catching up with family and friends. His gift for conversation and storytelling made him someone people naturally gravitated toward, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
C.W. was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Carl Raetzsch, and his siblings, David Raetzsch and Vernette Caranza.
He is survived by his loving wife, Becky Raetzsch; his children, Aaron Endris (Brooke) and Heather Brooke Anderson (Perry); his grandchildren, Ethan Endris, Kinsley Endris, Tristan Matherne, Sophia Matherne, Adalyn Matherne, and Kolton Anderson; and his siblings, Betty Saenz (Ralph) and Carla Rosenbaum. He will also be dearly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will continue to cherish his memory.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 3:00 pm at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, TX 78212.
Mr. Bill Lathrop will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the San Antonio Humane Society or The Coastal Conservation Association in his honor.
