
She was a member of the San Antonio Women's Chamber of Commerce. Carla was with BMG RCA Records in Dallas, TX for 23 years and most recently with Palo Duro Records. She was a graduate of Baylor University in 1971.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Irene Glasscock. She is survived by father, C.O. Sheffield; step-son, Burt Buchanan. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Preston, age 54, was born October 24, 1948 in San Antonio, TX. He attended Burbank and Alamo Heights High Schools in San Antonio, TX.
He joined Charley Prides' the Pridesman in 1969 and eventually became Band Leader for Charley Pride in 1979.
Prior to his years with Pride, he played with The Galaxies, Denny Ezba and the Goldens, George Chambers and the Country Gentlemen, Gary Stewart and Ronnie Millsap. Performances included Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Ireland, Canada, the Grand Ole Opry, and 5 Bob Hope USO Tours entertaining our service men and women who are stationed overseas.
He and his wife, Carla, lived in Dallas and Garland for many years but moved back to San Antonio in 1998 and resided in Bulverde.
Preston worked at Instrument Specialists in Boerne since 1999 and joined TC Taylor and the Family Cow in 2001 playing various dance halls throughout the state.
He is survived by his son, Preston Burt Buchanan; and sisters, Wanda Baird and Dolores Readel.
