Carlos Caballero

He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Dionicio Caballero; his brother and sister-in-law Hector X. and Shirley V. Caballero. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Edelmira Maria E Caballero; and his children & grandchildren, Patricia B Payne(Lawrence), Charles J Caballero(Constance) ; Grandsons, Charles A & Christopher Caballero(Jane); stepchildren , Diana B Johnson, Ignacio Sanchez III, Lilly A Salinas (Vincent), Nikolas I Caballero; grandchildren: Natalie R. McNish-Jay, Ricardo Flores Jr., Phoenix P. Salinas & 6 great grandchildren. Brothers & sister: Dionicio Caballero, Jr., (Maria G), Oscar M Caballero (Rose Mary), Maria de Lourdes Cavazos (Roger), Sylvia Y Ybarra; numerous close cousins, nephews, & friends.

Carlos served for 23 years in the US Air Force, obtaining certifications, awards, & a BA majoring in History. In civilian life, he owned and managed two auto shops, one with his father. Finally retiring as a Farmers Insurance agent. His smile, laughter, & friendliness which would brighten up a room will be dearly missed.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 12:30pm at Sunset Funeral Home with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
