Carlos Fonseca

Carlos Fonseca 84 passed away on Wednesday, February 04, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. Carlos was born on February 22, 1930 in San Antonio, Texas to Jose and Rosario Fonseca. Carlos married the love of his life, Gloria Salinas, on February 21, 1953 and was blessed with two daughters. Carlos is survived by his wife, Gloria Fonseca, two daughters Gloria Rendon of San Antonio and Lorraine and her husband Jerry McClellan of Phoenix, Arizona. Carlos was graced with three grandchildren and survived by, Carlos Rendon of San Antonio, Gerald and Tyler McClellan of Phoenix and one great-grandchild Michael Rendon of San Antonio. He is also survived by his brother Rudy Fonseca and his wife Eva and Uncle Jesse Cardenas and his wife Victoria. Carlos was a 1948 graduate of Fox Tech and immediately joined the US Navy after graduation. He served four years and was part of the Korean War. After serving his country, he proceeded in being a Master electrician where he met and made many friends. Carlos worked for Century Electric and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union # 60. Although he retired in 1992, he continued working side jobs and helping others. He also helped at Carmelites. Carlos had a lot of faith and attended variety of churches; Carmelites Little Flower, Holy Family, Holy Rosary and St. Martin De Porres. Carlos enjoyed eating out, spending time with his family, and going on road trips. Carlos will be greatly missed by his family members including his cousins, nieces, nephews, and especially his brother and sister-in-laws. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Carmelites or Harbor Hospice of San Antonio. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. Monday, February 9, 2015 for a funeral mass at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 152 Florencia with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
