Chaz was a good Intel NCO, father and husband.  He always had a tremendous sense of humor.  I still laugh at his portrayal of General Alessimo Santos, Juaraez  Garza, Commander of the Argentina Forces during the Falklands Islands War, with Lt. Phil Beekley playing the stiff shirt, NSA translator. The General was in Athens to lobby the Greeks for assistance but made time to speak to the SAC aircrews in attendance.  He wore the classic big sombrero, had a stubby cigar and crossed 30 cal ammo belts over his shoulders.  His most memorable quote after speaking rapid fire Spanish for a full 30 seconds ended in "Que pasa frijole?", Beekly translated it all, "The General wants to know how have you bean.." There were other memorable characters and times.  His smile, attitude and gracious heart will never be forgotten.  Rest In Peace.

A dear friend, fellow veteran, and a good man. Chaz and I worked together in the Strategic Air Command Intelligence Office for several years in Athens, Greece. He and I presented the Wednesday Special Intel briefing for all the local commanders and various big wigs. It was known as the "Beekley Weekly", but Chaz was the star, with his lively and entertaining coverage of hot topics. He even got into costume as an Arabic Sheikh to spice up our update on some Middle East conflict. We also partied and toured together on a week's cruise to Turkey, Egypt, Rhodes, and Israel; on "Audience Participation Night" in the ship's theatre, we both, along with others, donned skirts and wigs and danced the Can-Can, much to the delight of the audience, which included many colleagues from the air base (Chaz in black dress, me in green).
Rest in peace, my brother.  Heartfelt condolences to the family.
