Carlos was born on April 18, 1950, to Rosa Rodriguez and Benito Vazquez, who preceded him in death. He was a proud graduate of the Class of 1968 from Santa Terecita. He continued his education at Inter American University and later earned his associate degree from Palo Alto University.
Carlos proudly served his country as a Vietnam Veteran. After his military service, he found his calling in leadership roles—working as a general manager across various restaurants and ultimately retiring from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. In every role, Carlos brought a strong work ethic, respect for others, and a natural ability to lead.
Carlos is survived by his beloved wife, Carmen, and their children: Carlos, Zydnia, and Carmen. He was a devoted grandfather to Lymari, Aidan, Nicholas, Emma, Mia, and Camilla, and a joyful great-grandfather to Liliana. He is also survived by his loving sisters: Adaluz, Rosina, Aracelis, and Carmen Delia, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless friends whose lives he enriched.
Carlos will be remembered for his sweet spirit, warm smile, and the kind of laughter that could fill a room—joyful, genuine, and from the soul.
Mischievous and young at heart, he carried a lightness in life that made him a joy to be around. He was always quick to lend a helping hand, and his optimism and support never wavered, no matter the situation.
He found joy in the simple pleasures—listening to music, playing the drums, fishing, traveling, and most of all, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His life was rich with love, laughter, and lasting memories.
Carlos Arnaldo Vazquez-Rodriguez leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and unwavering devotion to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the honor of knowing and loving him.
Family statement:
There are no words strong enough to capture the loss we feel in our hearts. You were our guide, our steady hand, our quiet strength—the one we always looked to, no matter how old I got.
You taught us more through your actions than any words could. You gave without expecting. You loved without limits. You protected us with everything you had.
You weren’t just a husband, father, or grandfather, you were our best friend.
Now, the world feels quieter without your voice. The chair is empty, but your presence is still everywhere—in our memories, in the values you instilled, and in the way we hope to carry your legacy forward.
Thank you for the sacrifices you made, the wisdom you shared, and the love you gave so freely. We will miss you every day. But we will also honor you every day—by living a life you’d be proud of.
