

The family of Carmen C. Aranda announces her peaceful passing on July 17, 2026 at the age of 98. Carmen was born on May 20, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas. She was the beloved wife of Salvador S. Aranda, Sr. with whom she shared 58 years of devoted marriage until his passing. A woman of deep faith and unwavering love for her family, Carmen was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Dolores Zertuche-Kennerson, Edward Aranda, James Aranda (Carmen), Mary Barrera, Deborah Galindo (Simon), Dorcas Ramon (Roger) and her granddaughter whom she lovingly raised from infancy, Carmen Marie Aranda. She also leaves behind 14 additional grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom will cherish her memory.
In addition to her husband, Carmen was preceded in death by her daughter, Rosemary Benavides, her sons Salvador S. Aranda, Jr. and Roland Aranda, grandsons James Aranda, Jr., Simon Galindo III and Salvador C. Aranda, III.
Although her earthly journey has come to an end, her family finds comfort in the assurance that she is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
Funeral services will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, Texas on Thursday, July 30, 2026, with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. and the funeral service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place the following day, Friday, July 31, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. Those wishing to participate in the funeral procession are asked to gather at Porter Loring by 9:30 a.m.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who offered prayers, love, and support during Carmen's final days. They also express their sincere appreciation to the compassionate caregivers of Compassus Hospice Care, whose kindness, dignity, and attentive care brought comfort to Carmen and her loved ones during this time.
