

Carmen was a loving and caring person whose greatest joy came from spending time with the people she loved. She enjoyed reading, watching the latest movies, traveling, going to the beach and bicycling down the boardwalk, and spending precious time with her family. She also enjoyed visiting museums, going for walks, doing Yoga, gardening, biking, and taking trips with her loved ones. Carmen especially loved Christmas and the holidays, when she could gather with family, celebrate together, and create lasting memories. She was known for her love of entertaining and having family gatherings and parties filled with laughter and togetherness.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Consuelo C. Avila; her sister, Chelo Avila; and her brothers, Jesse C. Avila and Richard J. Avila.
She leaves behind her loving siblings, Josie Avila, Anna M. Cervantes, Margaret Avila, Concepción Simien, Rose M. Avila and Jose G. Avila (Liz); nieces and nephews, Alicia, Marisol, Laura, Rosario, Adrian, Julio, Richard, Alex, Joshua, John Albert, Mandy, Tina, Candice and Amy; great nieces and nephews, Justin, Ashton Jesus, Karolina, Mauricio, David Jesus, Nikolas, Evelyn, Lushêy, Carlos, Brooklyn-Aimee, Eli; sister in law, Stella as well as numerous family and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her. Carmen’s warmth, kindness, and love for her family will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Though she is no longer with us, her memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the beautiful moments she shared with her family. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
