She was born in Guanajuato, Mexico to Gabino and Estela Carbajo. Carmen first worked as an ESL teacher and human resources director in Chicago.
Later, Carmen worked for Mexicana Airlines as a reservation agent in San Antonio for 20 years. She then became a licensed massage therapist owning her own clinic, Thera-Health Care.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gabino Carbajo.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Adriana Bhatt-Kriz and son-in-law, Tomas Kriz of San Antonio; son, David Bhatt of Mission; mother, Estela Carbajo of Mexico; sister, Maria Antonia Garcia of Chicago; brother, Gabino Carbajo of Mexico; sister, Estela Gutierrez of Mexico; sister, Guillermina Carbajo of Ohio; brother, Dr. Juan Manuel Carbajo; brother, Aurelio Carbajo of Chicago; and numerous members of her extended family who provided loving support.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Vista Care Hospice.
