Carol Lee Collie, age 87, of San Antonio, Texas died Tuesday August 4. She passed peacefully in her sleep. Carol was born at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, February 24, 1939, to Jewel and Willie Williams and lived in various places including Germany, growing up as a military child.
She graduated from Brackenridge High School and went on to marry William Hilton Collie, and they remained married for 51 years until his passing. She worked as a hairdresser, bank manager and bookkeeper, acquiring various certifications and accolades along the way. She was an avid sports fan, especially the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Dallas Cowboys. She also loved the beach.
She is survived by her four daughters, Janet Lee Thomas (Scott), Barbara Jane Bumgardner, Julia Ann Walters, and Carol Lynn Davis (Donald). Carol also is survived by 9 grandchildren, Katie, Leslie, Anthony, Michael, Jackson, Dana, Christian, Darius, and Donald, Jr.; 14 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:30am at Porter Loring Funeral Home located at Loop 1604 and Gold Canyon in San Antonio. Viewing is set for 10:30am on the 8th.
