Carol Ann Rollins DeCoster, only child of Evelyn Shulsky Rollins and William Rollins, born July 14, 1939 went home to live in eternal bliss on January 30, 2007.
She was born in Somerville, MA and began lessons in elocution. At age 11, she recorded "The Pied Piper" on an album-all recited from memory. After being graduated from Somerville High School she attended Emerson College in Boston.
She interned at a radio station in Boston and did some broadcasts until she entered the world of Finance/Banking. She was an active member of Credit Women Inc., and rose through the ranks and held the office of president. In 1979 she received a Papal blessing from Pope John Paul II.
She retired from banking when she moved from Salem, N.H. to San Antonio, TX in 1988. She was employed at Pick-n-Pull as a phone operator until gaining employment with the Bexar County Adult Probation Department. In 1994 she became a CASA Child Advocates San Antonio volunteer.
She also volunteered her time to SNAP Spay Neuter Assistance Program as she had a true love of all animals, and she frequently went out of her way to help an animal in need. She retired in 2000 from the Bexar County Adult Probation Violators Facility in San Antonio.
She is survived by an only child her daughter, Roe A. DeCoster Lara and her husband, Richard O. Lara; and their daughter, her only grandchild, Lexie E. Lara, all of San Antonio.
