Carol and I are (second) cousins. One from the North and One from the South. We first connected in 1983 and have been close ever since. We visited each other and traveled together over the years.  We went to the Disney Parks, took a Hot Air Balloon ride, made a Longaberger basket, the Grand Ole Opry, to the beach in Florida, a Texas Honky Tonk, played Bunco with her group, a Toastmasters meeting, local play, Casa Rio and our favorite restaurant La Madeline. Keeping in touch all those years and doing things together, we became "cousins". My family and I will miss you, Carol.  Jeanne

Carol Ann, you were a wonderful Godmother to me.  I always remember the fun days during summer that we spent together with Aunt Clara making spaghetti, hitting the owls in the backyard, and going dress shopping.  I remember the middle room of the house was my room.  I loved how classy you always were and every time I see a Fleur de Lis, your memory comes to mind.  Heaven has a beautiful Angel. I met Carol in 2005 when I walked into my very first Toastmasters meeting.  She was the first person to come up and greet me and to say that she made an impression would be a vast understatement.  She made me feel so welcome that I made the decision then and there to join the club.  Her presence was amazing and even though she never served as Club President, during my tenure,it was obvious that every important decision and proclamation required her blessing.  She was the Club Treasurer of San Antonio Toastmasters Club 9434 for many years and it was so obvious that she welcomed and relished in the responsibility.  When I was elected Club President a year after joining I saw fit to recognize her devotion by christening her the Queen of Club 9434.  The day that she was presented with her crown was memorable with the fact that she was extremely proud and maybe a bit embarrassed.  Her caregiver told me this week that she still had that crown prominently displayed in her home.  Carol was a trusted Mentor and advisor to me and much of what I have accomplished in Toastmasters is a direct result of our friendship.  She will always be in my heart and I will never forget her. Carol and I (plus 1 Nun) were the Business Dept. at Incarnate Word College so many years ago.  Her Mother always made lots of candy for the IWC Harvest Festival fundraiser.  Frequently Carol and I would stop at Earl Abel's to get their great fried chicken meals to take to Carol's house after a class at IWC.  Miss you Carol but I know you are happier being reunited with your Mom and Dad in Heaven.  Enjoy!  Nancy

I met Carol when she moved to Adante.  I wish I would have had the opportunity to have known her prior to that.  It is so clear that she was a very special person.  Blessings to those who knew her and loved her.

Carol was our sweet neighbor and friend. We make popcorn often and I would call her when Bob made it to ask if she wanted some. She would always say, “Oh yes!”  She never turned us down. She always remembered our birthdays and has a calendar with many friends and family members birthdays. She loved sending birthday cards out and many will miss her.
