Carol Jane Lockett

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Carol Jane Kenne Lockett, of Nordheim, TX at the age of 80. She passed away on August 24, 2024 in San Antonio, TX.

Carol was born in Woodsboro, TX to Albert and Isabella Kenne on May 4, 1944. She was one of three children. She spent her school career in the schools of Woodsboro TX . Carol met Jerry Lockett during her service in the Air Force and they were married on October 19, 1963 in Poughkeepsie, NY.

After their service in the Air Force, Carol and Jerry lived in New York, Corpus Christi and Houston, but returned to the Woodsboro area to raise their family. Carol held many jobs during her life and always enjoyed working with people. Some of her jobs included store manager at an auto parts store and manager of a number of restaurants. One of her most memorable times was as owner/manager of The Frosty restaurant that she and her husband owned for several years. In retirement she also worked for the Texas Agricultural Extension Agency in their research of invasive insects in Texas.

Carol was an avid gardener, cook, and lover of cats. A lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church, she was tireless in her efforts, enjoyed serving in many different capacities at the church, and was strong and unwavering in her Christian faith.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Albert Kenne and Isabella Merks Kenne, her brother, James Kenne, her sister, LaVonne Kenne Schlabach, and her husband, Jerry Lockett.

She is survived by children Dale and his wife, Carla Lockett, Dawn Lockett Brown, and grandchildren Bethany and Andrew Lockett, and Macy and Madison Brown.

A memorial service/celebration of life will be held and details will be announced soon.

Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church in Woodsboro, TX.

The family would like to thank everyone who touched Carol in her life. She will be missed by all.
