Carol Lynn Smith

Carol Lynn Smith, born on January 25, 1946, in Baltimore, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on December 15, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was 78 years old. Preceded in death by partner of 27 years, Gene Newcomb; mother, Dorothy Margaret Fischer; and father, Harry Benjamin Unglaub.

Throughout her life, Carol was known for her warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family. As a loving mother and grandmother, she cherished the time spent with her daughter, Angela O'Reilly, son-in-law, Neal O'Reilly, and her grandchildren, Connor and Nora. Carol’s love for her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she always put others before herself.

In her retirement years, Carol found joy in simple pleasures. She enjoyed the Texas sunshine and loved sitting outside by the pool. She loved coloring and word finds, she enjoyed reading and engaging in various activities with her friends at her retirement community.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Angela O'Reilly; her son-in-law, Neal O'Reilly; her beloved grandchildren, Connor and Nora; her sister, Dorothy (Jim Halverson); and numerous extended family members and friends. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her legacy of love, warmth, and joy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
