Carole Sullivan Carmichael

Carole Sullivan Carmichael, affectionately known to her grandchildren as Mia, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in San Antonio, at the age of 67. Carole was born on October 17, 1942, in Calgary, Alberta, to Dorothy and Joseph P. Sullivan. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Carole is survived by her loving husband, Bill Carmichael; her daughter, Tamara Taylor and husband, Andy, of Brenham, TX; sons Ben Sanders, and wife, Cathie, of Littleton, CO; Thomas Sanders, and wife, Jill, of San Antonio, TX; fifteen wonderful grandchildren, Amber, Nathaniel, Zachary, Audrey, Annie, William, Megan, Emily, Hannah, Katie, Joshua, Abigail, Ella, Kano and Mia; brothers Paul Sullivan, and wife, Marti, of Spicewood, TX, Michael Sullivan, and wife, Sandy, of San Antonio, TX; aunt, Gail Bradford, of Billings, MT; niece, Sarah Sullivan, of Austin, TX and nephew, Michael Sullivan, Jr., of Austin, TX.

Carole lived in Calgary, Pittsburgh, and San Antonio, where she graduated from Alamo Heights High School. She obtained her Associate degree from the School of Dental Hygiene at the University of Texas at Houston, and was a dental hygienist in San Antonio for many years.

Later she became a successful businesswoman, owning two small businesses.

Carole loved music and art and found great joy in gardening but her greatest passion was spending time with family. She was surrounded by loved ones when she went to be with the Lord.

Carole was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother, who will be dearly missed.

The family would like to extend thanks to the many doctors and nurses who provided her with loving care.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 15th from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
