Carole Walenta

She was born June 13, 1923, in Ritzville, Washington, to Charles and Elizabeth Baumann.

Carole met and married the love of her life, Howard Walenta, in 1943 and they settled in Seattle, Washington where they raised their family. Once all their children were grown, Howard and Carole, now in their 60's, served as missionaries with The Rafiki Foundation in Tanzania, Africa for two years. While in Africa, Carole spread her love through her gift of baking. Upon their return to the U.S., they continued their faithful service as volunteers with Bible Study Fellowship International for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband of 57 years, Howard in May 2001.

Carole is survived by her children, Nancy Herr and husband, Kyle of Shoreline, WA, Karen Sullivan and husband, Dennis of Olympia, WA, Richard Walenta and wife, Marsha of San Antonio, and Rhonda Walenta of Tonasket, WA; 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
