Carolina Rodríguez López

Con profunda tristeza, la familia de Carolina Rodríguez López comparte su fallecimiento, ocurrido el 20 de enero de 2025, a la edad de 88 años. Carolina nació el 31 de enero de 1936, en Encarnación de Díaz, Jalisco, México, hija de Dolores y Esteban Rodríguez.

En 1958, Carolina se casó con Catarino López y juntos construyeron una vida basada en la perseverancia, el trabajo duro y la dedicación a su familia. En 1961, emigró a Los Ángeles, California, con sus dos primeros hijos para reunirse con su esposo, y más tarde ampliaron su familia a seis hijos. Carolina fue inicialmente ama de casa, pero en la década de 1960 se unió a la fuerza laboral para apoyar a su familia. A pesar de sus largas jornadas de trabajo, siempre mantuvo un hogar impecable y preparaba diariamente deliciosas comidas caseras, llenas de amor y dedicación.

Carolina fue una mujer de extraordinaria fuerza y compasión. A pesar de enfrentar numerosos desafíos, mantenía un espíritu positivo y encontraba alegría en las cosas simples de la vida. Su risa contagiosa y su apoyo incondicional fueron una constante para su familia y amigos. Su hogar era un lugar de refugio, siempre abierto a quienes lo necesitaban, y recibía a todos con calidez y generosidad.

Carolina disfrutaba especialmente los momentos con su familia, encontrando gran felicidad en las reuniones y celebraciones familiares. En sus años de jubilación, cuidó de sus padres mayores y su hermana enferma en Guadalajara antes de regresar a Los Ángeles para estar cerca de sus hijos, y finalmente se mudó a San Antonio con su esposo en 2017 para estar con su hijo Esteban, quien la cuido con mucho amor y cariño.

Carolina está precedida en la muerte por sus padres, Dolores y Esteban Rodríguez, y por sus hermanos: Juan José, Jesús, Amparo y Everardo Rodríguez. Está sobrevivida por su esposo, con quien compartió 66 años de matrimonio, Catarino López; sus seis queridos hijos: Jaime López, Javier López, Martha Carolina Stokes, Alma Rosa López, Irma López y Esteban López; y sus nietos: Javier López, Yolitzín López, Ixchel López, Daniel Stokes, Dahlia López, Manuel López, Isabella López, Elena Singh, Auden Singh y Shawn Singh.

La familia recibirá a los invitados el domingo, 2 de febrero de 2025, a las 6:00 p.m. en Porter Loring Funeral Home North.

With deep sorrow, the family of Carolina Rodríguez López announces her passing on January 20, 2025, at the age of 88. Carolina was born on January 31, 1936, in Encarnación de Díaz, Jalisco, Mexico, to Dolores and Esteban Rodríguez.

In 1958, Carolina married Catarino López, and together they built a life rooted in perseverance, hard work, and family. In 1961, she immigrated to Los Angeles, California, with her first two children to reunite with her husband, eventually expanding their family to six children. Initially a homemaker, Carolina later joined the workforce in the 1960s to help support her family. Despite her long workdays, she maintained an immaculate home and lovingly prepared homemade meals for her family every day.

Carolina was a woman of incredible strength and compassion. No matter the challenges she faced, she remained optimistic and found joy in life’s simplest moments. Her infectious laughter and unwavering support were constants for her family and friends. Her home was always a welcoming place for anyone in need, where she greeted everyone with warmth and generosity.

Carolina especially treasured time with her family and found great happiness in family gatherings and celebrations. In her later years, she cared for her aging parents and her ailing sister in Guadalajara before returning to Los Angeles to be near her children. In 2017, she moved to San Antonio, where she was lovingly cared for by her son Esteban.

Carolina was preceded in death by her parents, Dolores and Esteban Rodríguez, and her siblings: Juan José, Jesús, Amparo, and Everardo Rodríguez. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Catarino López; her six beloved children: Jaime López, Javier López, Martha Carolina Stokes, Alma Rosa López, Irma López, and Esteban López; and her grandchildren: Javier López, Yolitzín López, Ixchel López, Daniel Stokes, Dahlia López, Manuel López, Isabella López, Elena Singh, Auden Singh, and Shawn Singh.

The family will welcome guests on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, February 3, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church (623 East Commerce Street, San Antonio, TX 78205)

Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266.
