Caroline Keller, age 94, passed away on October 22, 2020 in New Branfels, Texas. She was born in Shreveport, LA on May 17, 1926. Caroline was a beloved mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. She lived her first eighteen years in Shreveport, LA. She next moved to San Antonio, TX to attend Trinity University and completed her freshman year and then met the love of her life, Robert Keller. She was his devoted wife for 72 years. She lived in San Antonio, where they cared for their five children.
As empty nesters, she and her husband eventually moved to Cody, Wyoming, a small town that she truly loved for twenty years. She adored visiting Yellowstone Park, adjacent to Cody. Her favorite Wyoming landmark is Heart Mountain.
She had a passion for sewing, so for most of her adult life she was a professional seamstress. She worked for Julian Gold, a well-known clothing store for women, and she designed and produced clothing for family. In fact, she designed and made her oldest daughter’s wedding dress. With love, she made most of the shirts her husband proudly wore.
During her retirement, she became a dedicated quilter. He quilts won several contests at various Wyoming fairs. Her assisted-living apartment held a few of those quilts.
Caroline loved adventure, which explains why she and her husband took road trips throughout the United States, enjoying the beauty that America offers.
She was a baseball fan of various teams: her husband’s teams, the SA Missions, and the Colorado Rockies. When she could no longer travel, she continued to watch games on TV.
She volunteered at her church in San Antonio for many years as a Sunday school caretaker and vacation bible school teacher.
Living in Cody, WY, she dedicated time to a local church, so much so, that she received the woman of the year award.
She was a proud, loving grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was a “sweet granny” to all.
