A 1968 graduate of St. Gerard's High School, she worked for Levi Strauss until retiring in 1994. She was then employed by Aptis Subsidiaries until her retirement from there in 2006.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Cleophas Cleo Kotara. Survivors include her husband, Joe Hoffman; 2 children, Steve Hoffman and wife Patricia, and Jennifer Hoffman; her mother, Annie Keller Kotara; a sister, Mary Kotara Vistuba; 4 brothers, Richard Kotara and wife Virginia, Norman Butch Kotara, Robert Kotara and wife Christine, and Gary Kotara; and 5 nieces and nephews, Laura Vistuba Ramirez and husband Richard, Brad Vistuba, Kimberly Kotara, Matthew Kotara, and Nisha Deiss and husband Patrick.
