

Catalina Falcon Vazquez, age 88, of San Antonio, TX, died Tuesday, April 1, 2008. She was born on February 13, 1920 in Eagle Pass, TX. She attended school in Piedras Negras Coahuila, Mexico, and lived in Eagle Pass until she moved to San Antonio, in the early 1950's. In the 1960's she worked two jobs to rear her children becoming both mother and father after she separated from her husband. Through her endless efforts she was nominated and awarded "Mother of the Year", in 1990 by the San Antonio Light and KWEX TV station. Mom's motto was "Don't sit around and cry work to improve your situation." As a result, she raised five educated and successful children who are passing her values on to future generations. She is preceded in death by her brother, Jose Juan Martinez. Survivors: sons, Gilbert F. Vazquez, Raul F. Vazquez and wife Belinda; daughters, Lucy Espinoza, Imelda Forehand and husband Jim; Leticia Hernandez and husband Jesus; grandchildren, Domingo Espinoza, Jr., Jennifer Delgado, Clarissa Hernandez, Adrian Hernandez, Jamie Alina Forehand; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Gonzalez, Lucy Nikole Espinoza, Samantha Delgado, Alyssa Delgado, and numerous nieces and nephews.
