Joan graduated from Dundalk Senior High School in Baltimore in 1963. She worked most of her career at First National Bank in customer service. Joan loved traveling with her husband, Joseph, to Acadia National Park and other parts of Maine. She also enjoyed playing mahjong.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Joseph Baer, her brother Joseph Baer Jr. and her sister Rosemary “Bunny” Croy.
Joan is survived by her husband Joseph Darchicourt, son Michael Darchicourt, daughter-in-law Lori Darchicourt, grandchildren Addison and Declan Darchicourt, brothers Martin Baer and Brian Baer, and sisters Margie Molton, Denise Dimick and Farrah Barnes.
The family would like to thank the following caregivers and healthcare professionals for the care and compassion they showed Joan in her final months and days: Dr. Bogaev and the staff at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital, Dr. Brenna Brothers, Chris Whittaker and the staff at Seasons Memory Care and caregiver Eartha Johnson.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Porter Loring West located at 1710 W Loop 1604 N in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, November 14th. Visitation will be from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and then the memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m.
