

She graduated from Notre Dame of Maryland University and then spent many years employed with National Institute of Health (NIH) where she did both research and clinical work.
Moving to UT Health Science Center 36 years ago, she taught medical students and continued to run clinics. She was also a docent at the McNay Art Museum. Catherine was an active member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church and founded the parish library and was a leader in adult faith education. She was an active member from the beginning of the Lay Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. San Antonio's Archbishop awarded her the parish Lumen Gentium (Light of the Nations) Award 2012. Catherine was a very generous woman always contributing to charity, helping to reorganize the library at The Village at Incarnate Word.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Jeremiah and Catherine Delea; sister, Mary Jenkins; brother, Francis Delea; sister, Doris Pfeifer.
Catherine is survived by her brother, Louis Delea; sister, Jean Venzke; nieces, Jeanne Thompson, Terry Samuels, Elizabeth Komins, and Cathy Busch; nephew, Fred Pfeifer; great niece, Katie Thompson and numerous special friends and other family.
