Catherine C. Ellison

Catherine Caroline Ellison, 91, died October 17, 2013 after a short illness. She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and has gone to be with her Lord and Savior. Catherine was born in Bonham, Texas and had five brothers and sisters who have preceeded her in death. She was a devoted wife to George Edwin Ellison for 58 years until his death in 1997. They had two children, Wayne and Sherrill. Wayne also preceeded her in death as a casualty of the Vietnam war. She has been a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Loved by all who knew her, she was best known to everyone simply as Granny. She had the most gentle, kind and generous spirit, and more inner and physical strength than anyone we ever knew. She will leave a legacy of love that will be remembered and passed on from generation to generation. She is survived by daughter, Sherrill Wright and husband Steven; granddaughters, Chrissy Pigott Mahurin and husband Jason and Laura Pigott Johnson and husband Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Tristan and Delaney Mahurin.
