Catherine A Ingham

Catherine (Kay) Ingham, our beloved mother, grandmother and friend was guided home by her angel March 19, 2011. Born in Lawton, Oklahoma April 9, 1929 to Cecil and Lena Allison, she was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray and sisters Maxine Cruse and Jo Williamson.A 1947 graduate of Lawton High School she went to work for Burton, Jennings and Jones law firm and later worked as secretary for the mayor of Lawton. Once her children were grown she returned to work as a Federal Court Reporter in Tarrant County and then as legal secretary to Grey Pierson, Attorney in Arlington Texas. She was a military wife and made friends easily wherever they were stationed. After retirement she and her husband settled in the Royal Ridge community in San Antonio, Texas. She was active in the Royal Ridge Club activities, secretary for their newsletter and had many friends in the area. She later moved to Los Patios retirement community where she lived for several years before moving to Grand Prairie to be closer to her daughter and granddaughters. She loved everyone that she met and was loved in return. She loved to read and being an avid gardener, she was able to make anything grow just by her touch. What she loved most was her family who will miss her and forever carry her in their hearts. She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Chip and Cathy Ingham of Houston; daughter Catherine Richie of Grand Prairie; granddaughters Allison Richie, Marina Richie and great grandson Killian, Leigh-Anne Howard, husband Travis Howard and great grandson Hunter; and niece Kim Elam of Lawton, Oklahoma. Memorial services will be held at 5:00p.m. March 27th at The Inn at Los Patios retirement community at 8700 Post Oak Lane in San Antonio. Graveside services will be held at 9:00a.m. March 28th at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family also wishes to thank Parkwood Memory Care of Bedford, Texas and American Hospice for their care and grace in her last hours.
