Catherine "Kay" Elizabeth Crowell Lawrence, R.N., longtime resident of Hartford, Vermont and Kerrville, Texas, died Thursday, October 5, 2001. She was born July 24, 1916 in Hanover, New Hampshire to Neil Byron and Bessie Bronson Crowell, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Lawrence graduated from Hartford High School in 1934 and Boston Women's Hospital as a Registered Nurse in 1938. She married William John Lawrence on March 22, 1944 at the Hartford Congregational Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband in May of 1972 and by her 4 younger siblings, Maurice, Wayne, and Benton Crowell and Regis Crowell Plummer. Mrs. Lawrence is survived by her daughters Jean Wilbur and husband Barry of San Antonio, TX, Bette Fugitt and husband Paul, Sr. of Fredericksburg, VA and Dolly Lawrence of San Antonio, TX. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
